Look, I love the concept of the archery peerage but it’s been gone about all wrong. I’m from and reside in the Shire of Dun in Mara in the Principality of Insulae Draconis in the Kingdom of Drachenwald, so the only ranged marshal activities we really do is archery and occasionally thrown weapons – my experience is limited to that.
However, I still have many opinions on the topic. The board, the heralds and the populace are so far removed from each other that they may as well be talking in morse code, in different languages, after many layers of google translate on opposite sides of the world.
The people are saying what they want and the board is giving the heralds a mistranslated version of that (in what I suppose is in an effort to fast track to progress) but is only prolonging things further. Meanwhile the heralds’ response to what the populace actually wants is basically “Well we can’t do that because it’s been taken by a three person order somewhere in one specific kingdom, so here’s an objectively worse option which literally no one asked for”, and the populace is pissed because all of the options they’re seeing suck, and nobody asked for them.
Even considering how frankly incompetent the board has been in this matter, it’s a very difficult order to come up with a name for. By nature it’s so broad and vague that you would struggle to find even one commonality between every single marshal activity covered by the order excluding ‘it’s at range’.
So I’d propose ‘Order of the Range’, seeing as it’s the only commonality there is. I really don’t care if it’s taken already. If some place in The Barony of Bumfuck has it, then we can ask them nicely to change it.
